Two e-bikes at the house

Out on two wheels

2 e-bikes · Titisee 30 min · Ochsen 19 min · countless rides from the door

We have two e-bikes you can hire during your stay. They live in a lockable store at the house, so nothing has to be carried through the apartment — and nothing stands outside overnight.

Double rainbow over Lake Titisee, reflected in the water
Titisee · 8 km by bike

The road goes the long way round. The cycle path does not.

By car it is 16 kilometres to Lake Titisee, because the road has to skirt the hill. The cycle path runs through the valley and needs 8 kilometres — exactly half.

In minutes the car is still nine ahead, but at the other end there is no parking space to hunt for, and in summer that hunt at Titisee often takes longer than the drive.

Hence the e-bikes: at 887 metres nothing around here is flat, and with a motor every climb becomes a question of minutes rather than fitness.

Countless rides from the door — three worth doing especially

01

To Lake Titisee

8 km · 30 min · easy

Through the valley to the lake, where the lido charges no entry. Around 16 kilometres there and back — the ride nearly every guest does once.

02

Dinner in Saig

4.5 km · 19 min · short

Over the shortcut to the Ochsen, the best-rated restaurant around. By car it would be 8.1 kilometres — here too the bike is the shorter way.

03

Up to the Feldberg

20 km · 90 min · 580 m of climbing

Even with a motor, 580 metres of climbing is a statement, and the battery should be full. If you would rather take it easy, drive up to the Feldberg: 25 minutes.

What you can reach by bike

Riding times measured from the front door, cross-checked with two independent routing engines and confirmed by us on the road. With a motor and a tailwind it is quicker.

The practical bits

How hiring works

There are two bikes. If four of you arrive and everyone wants to ride, say so in advance and we will see what can be arranged.

The two e-bikes live in a lockable store at the house, sized for exactly those two: your own bikes will not fit in there, but outside there is room under the covered parking space.

The bikes are booked through the booking tool of our partner ListNRide, separately from the apartment. The confirmation arrives by e-mail. Anything else you settle directly with us.

What it costs

The hire price and availability are shown in the booking tool further down, before you book.

Book the e-bikes online

Choose your dates and your bike and book directly. You receive the confirmation by e-mail.

The booking tool comes from ListNRide, an external service. It only loads when you click the button, so no data goes there beforehand. Details are in the privacy policy.

Common questions about the bikes

How many bikes are there?

Two e-bikes. They belong to the house; this is not a hire shop with a larger fleet.

Do I have to reserve them in advance?

It is best to. In the booking tool on this page you choose your dates and a bike, and the confirmation arrives by e-mail. Then they are set aside for you. Insurance is included automatically through our partner Laka-Versicherungen.

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes. The lockable store only holds our own two hire bikes, so yours will not fit inside. But there is plenty of room outside under the covered parking space — motorbikes stay dry there too.

Is the bike really worth it, or should I take the car?

For Lake Titisee it clearly is: 8 kilometres instead of 16, and no parking problem. For the Feldberg the car is the better choice unless you are specifically after a full-day ride.

Book the bikes along with the stay

The apartment and the bikes are booked separately: the apartment in the calendar, the bikes in the booking tool on this page. If anything is unclear, ask Michael.
